It is odd that it happened straight after an update but, honestly, I have seen both stranger things and weirder coincidences. I tested my monitor with another computer and it worked just fine. I also connected a different monitor to my broken computer and still received no signal monitors remained in sleep mode. I was not able to enter winRE by following the steps above.
To me, it seems like it might be a GPU issue, but I find it strange that it happened right after or during a windows update.
Maybe it was just a coincidence. Yeah… I am planning on bringing it to a local computer shop today. I will try replacing the GPU cables beforehand. Hope your problem will be solved soon! Just found this.. When rebooted.. I cannot remember the exact sequence of events, but at one point during the install, a screen appears with two radio buttons to click. One is for installing updates and updating drivers. Do not select that button. I can attest that my parents Gateway ZX did upgrade to Win 10 and it is working just fine.
I can also tell you that the compatibility test that Microsoft performs on your computer said that Win 10 was available for it and it would be compatible. I think maybe because I have a couple of Win Updates that have failed to install..?
