So, I was able to solve my problem. Before I explain, realize I have been using this computer for over a year in a working configuration. Gigabyte offers two outputs for the primary speakers. Just so you know, I did do all the standard stuff before discovering the line out problem. These didn’t fix things themselves, but doing all of them may have contributed to the fix. I will validate one thing that has been mentioned.
It does not appear to be universal. I also would get some applications working fine, and others that would not work at all. I would get sound through the speakers on some applications, but not when I did the test or configuration setup on the front panel. So, some applications call sound in a manner that the update can handle and other don’t.
As far as i know the only two things these apps have in common is they have been downloaded from “MSFT Store” while all other software comes from various sources.
