In reply to A. User’s post on September 24, This started for me a few days ago. Knowing WD doesn’t really set a standard for virus protection, I’ve used 3 different virus detecting and removing software all well known and widely accepted as being legit, and none of them detected anything.

I’ve turned off notifications for apps. I’ve turned off notifications completely. Guess what. Every god damn 5 seconds Windows Defender pops up saying it found malware.

Wanna know something even more interesting? I even used the task manager to kill every process that the windows defender was associated with. Luckily, my computer hasn’t been slowed down by this and the only ill effect is having this damn notification every 5 seconds not an exaggeration either. Honestly, if killing the process with task manager doesn’t stop it, It seems pretty shady. I miss the days of owning the computer I paid for. I hope I’m able to fix it soon.
