Set a password to help protect your Outlook information.
Outlook always asking password after successfully connected to exchange server. After sometime it will display “Need Password” in the outlook status bar. After few seconds a windows security message shows up saying ” Microsoft Outlook Connecting to user1 companyname.
The “Windows Security” message just hang-in there. This problems started to happen after I install Outlook in my PC. I was using Outlook and i did not have this issue. All PC in the company with outlook have the same problem. Is there any error message recorded in GC server and Exchange mailbox server in the application event log?
I find not a list of passwords but a list of userID and password. One of them dates back to June the right time frame But how do I clear out the stored password? Is there a possibility of preventing me from logging onto my local machine or onto the network by doing this?
It’s already weeks I’m trying to solve this but nothing helps. Contacted Microsoft but no response I recently had the same scenario in a to coexistence, where any mailbox existing in was prompted. The client settings were correct and did not require the password every time.
I am not sure what you are saying here. But we use an Exchange server not a CAS server. The mail system keeps submitting some old password until the server security blocks further attempts.
Wait 30 minutes and one connects again without issue or call the support desk and have them “Unlock” the account and everything works fine for some period of time – maybe an hour maybe the rest of the day. I’m going to have to go back to using outlook I randomly can’t make meetings, constant-never ending pop ups for password. Is there nothing to be done. Right now I can close outlook and reopen it, then I have a random short window where I can do stuff like schedule a meeting, after that I’m stuck in never ending need password.

Turning off cached mode isn’t a long term option. What is causing outlook to keep displaying Need password and then clicking on it has it log back in. Why can’t this be done automatically? The reason i checked remember password was i don’t want to click on something every couple seconds and minutes. What is causing the prompt?
And why does this not have any solution from anyone thus far? I am using office so i don’t have direct access to the exchange server. And i would assume that it is updated constantly by Microsoft themselves. Any help would be appreciated. Thursday, August 27, PM. FU MS. Monday, July 10, PM.
