I’ve only had Creator for a few days and had one problem already. The Sound Editor crashed and I lost about 20 songs from Pandora. I also created a 3D version of a portrait.

I was in 3D but the colors are washed out since you must use red and cyan glasses supplied which eliminates those colors from the picture. Everything else I tried so far seems to work. It does eat disk space and I suspect along with that it needs a powerful computer chip.

But with all the problems I can only give it 3 stars. I tried installing this on my newer, faster Win7 machine and the software seemed to install fine but when I tried to open Easy VHS it would fail with “The certificate file is missing or has been corrupted.

Please re-install it. Googling got me nowhere. So, I tried it on some older Xp machines and it worked fine, but too darn slow to be useful. I ended up reformatting and reloading Win7 on my newest machine what the heck, it was overdue anyway! There is no manual, but if you spend a little time playing with the settings and googling to find out what each one does you will be able to get a usable copy – a high quality VHS player and good condition tapes make a difference as well.

Eventually, I was able to insert a VHS, then just set it and forget. The files are large if you use the high resolution settings but once you have them on your hard drive you can use some other freeware to edit them as needed. Again, this is all I wanted the software for and for me it did the job. The following is a critique that I sent to Roxio in February about this product. I have never heard back from them Main Roxio Special Edition, Rip application If the inserted CD comes up with a choice of matches from CDDB, and I select the correct match, then it chooses some other title on the list of matches.

If there is only one choice on the match list and I choose that, then it assigns the titles of “Unknown Artist”, Unkown Album” and “Track 1, 2, 3, These happen every time. I don’t like the fact that if I need to make a correction to a mis-spelled title that I cannot do that while in the Rip application. As a result, the drives sometimes run at a decent – but not maximum – speed, and other times they just meandor along at little more than 1x.
