This issue happened to a Prusa MK3S user and it resulted in a clicking as well as the idler gear slipping. It would cause under-extrusion and be responsible for many failed prints, but he came up with a great solution. The idle gear axle should snap firmly into place and still leave the gear free to move as it was intended.

If you experience this issue, you could also experience this clicking noise in the printing process. Check that your power cable is strong enough to handle your printer and has the correct voltage to give proper power. High spring tension can grind away at your material, leaving a deformed shape and slower movement. This can result in a clicking noise, as detailed previously.

Your solution here is to tighten or loosen the spring tension by adjusting the screw, or to buy a completely new feeder. A cold pull is a useful method to clean out your 3D printer hotend and nozzle when you have filament jams or clogs. This article will show you how you can perform a successful cold pull on your 3D This is very important.

Heat bed to 60 deg, and use for filament. Buy it here from Amazon. Wait for Prime stocks so you don’t over pay. Avg 6 hrs. However, once you see a HQ 3d print, you will never want to use anything else. Bottom line: patience. Level the bed very well before you print. I cannot stress this enough. Make sure the first things you print are a filament feeder and a bigger spool feeder.

Go on Thingverse for STL plans. You will these before you do anything else. You will almost never use the dual extruders. The only benefit is that you can use two filaments of different types ready to go. Always unload the extruder if you are not going to use the printer for more than a week.

Keep the door and top cover on when printing. Heat retention is your friend. Experiment with your slicing settings. Don’t accept default values. They are typically the wrong ones for your printer. Try to print things vertically. Vertical printing is always more accuarte. Even if some instruction states to print something flat, always flip it vertically.

After you get some time on the stock nozzles, upgrade to some micro swiss nozzles. Huge difference. Do not go full metal. It’s not needed and it will screw up you temperatures. The blue stock print surface works great.

Don’t listen to all the idiot’s out there that recomend all kinds of other stuff, glass, PEI, Kapton, etc. The key is keeping your surface clean. Clean with denatured alcohol after each print.

Let dry. Always use a raft. I don’t care what they say about not using one. When it’s truly not sticking anymore replace with a new one. I get about 20 prints before I need to replace. Always preheat. That is so important. Both bed and extruder.

OK so here are some cons: 1. Nozzles will need to be replaced at some point. The two nozzles are more than likely NOT at the same height. What this means is that one may “knock” into the other “structures” when printing and ruin the print. The solution here is either remove extruders and rebalance the nozzles or remove the nozzle of the extruder you dont use.

Either solution is simple, about 10 min total time. Balancing the table takes several attempts. I use feeler guages. They are more accurate. Loading and unloading the filament becomes a chore, but it’s something that needs to be done. The table is actually small, as your appetite for bigger projects grows. You will have to get creative wit layouts. The cooling could be improved.

Several mods are available online. Do not use the provided spools. The quality is very low and it has led to numerous clogs. Overall I love this printer.

Yes, some things could be improved but the only 3d printer I would consider to be better than this one is the makergear m2. I also own that one. It’s very good but also twice the price. I still find myself using the flashforge over the m2 more often than not. The m2 is great for bigger projects. Get it as soon as Tuesday, Aug More items to explore. I did have to add 4 washers between the back of the extruder and the printer, as the screws were just a hair too long.

Otherwise it fit perfectly. You will need 3 allen wrenches to install everything. Note that the gear and bearing are different so you need to adjust your M92 E value. Mine went from around 55 to around So far the prints are quite a bit better than stock. At first it seemed to be only a slight improvement, but some objects seem to fare better than others. The stock extruder has a non-standard bowden tube connector so if it breaks as mine did , upgrading to this is a solid move.

This extruder driver feed upgrade is amazing! The metal construction is very sturdy and it is a major upgrade over the cheap plastic piece that comes with most printers.

It comes with all the parts you need to swap it over from the old one and it was very easy to install. The packaging comes with a qr code that shows an instruction video that is pretty good, but there are better ones available on Youtube. Overall, this is a great upgrade and I would highly recommend for anyone looking at this product. By Scott on April 16, I waited until I finished an entire spool to print this review. Works perfectly. No problems installing and feeds filament correctly with no issues.

Ok I just received this printer and so far it’s amazing!

However I’ve noticed some people on youtube or other places that shows them having a bit of trouble setting it up so if you’re planning on getting this printer use the following steps to have an awesome experience. Order a spool of Hatchbox 1. The sample PLA included isn’t enough for anything 1. The VERY first thing you do is use an X-acto knife to cut away the corners of masking tape covering the bed screws! Plug in the power supply and turn it on 5. The nozzle won’t dig it’s way into the print bed because what?

YES we lowered the bed first! Now use a strip of regular typing paper and gradually start to raise each corner while checking the tension on the paper until you feel some resistance but not too much. In other words like a guitar we tune up not down! After each print leave the filament in the nozzle and never try to pull it out once it cools because you’ll break the hotend! To switch filament Empty spool or different color Preheat to wait for it to reach that temp, extrude a little bit and then pull it out from up top I wish this info was put together in one place like this when I was reading reviews, It took me like 4 weeks to gather all the steps.

Now stop thinking about it and just order it! If you purchased a printer in the last month or so, please check your unit to see if you received a V1 or a V2 printer. Some Google-fu will show you that Monoprice is having an issue with labeling V1 and V2 units in their warehouse.

There purportedly quite a big difference between the V2 and V1 printers in terms of print quality and reliablity, so please do make sure that you are getting what you paid for. I will be returning mine.

I am a 3d printing beginner and didn’t want to spend much on my first printer. I wasn’t expecting much from the printer so my expectations weren’t high. I watched as many YouTube videos on setting up the printer as I could. As soon as I got the printer I flashed the screen and rom as well as changed its settings according to the videos. I didn’t use the filament that came with the printer as there was very little of it. I started printing the included model of the cat and it came out great.

I started downloading. All was well and then my prints went to garbage. I watched more 3d print videos and apparently my bed was out of level. This is where the fun begins, NOT! I thought I would have to send the machine back because it seemed no matter what technique I used to level the bed my prints were still garbage. Finally I watched a video that suggested using a business card for each of the four corners I had been using a piece of paper After practice, I can level the bed in no time flat.

Again watch videos on leveling. I also had to clear a filament jam which was interesting.. I started playing with various bed temps as well as filament temps.

I bought other types of filament to see what worked the best. Let me give you a heads up, if you are going to use ABS It’s a headache.. I did some ABS prints and they came out great but again.. I also found that about middle of the road for temperature depending on what the filament calls for is what worked for me. Once the print would start I would up the bed temp to 80c. The bed would only get to around 78c.

For ABS to work I had also used an Elmer’s glue stick on my blue 3m masking tape covered bed to get it to stick. Again, stick with PLA. Oh I failed to mention, when the initial masking tape comes off the bed plate which it will, you can cover it back up with 3M blue masking tape, the same kind you use when you paint. Since I have played, I can pretty much tell by what I am printing what setting I should use.

I can only suggest that you play around and watch a lot of videos. At this price and for a single spool of filament you should be having fun and learning. I have since moved on from using Cura and am now using Simplify3d which is rather pricey but I really like it.

The small build plate is a challenge as a lot of models that you may want to print will be much bigger. Scaling has its issues. Trying to take off supports when the part of the model it is connected to can be tricky. I included a picture of my latest print Not sure why it shows up on Amazon sideways. This had to be scaled down significantly from the original and lost some detail in regards to the terminator’s hydraulics around the mouth and back of the head.

But if you want to print bigger, you are going to spend a lot more on a printer. I am pushing this thing to its limits and I am coming out with some great prints. I have also bought another 3d printer with a larger print bed but I will not give this one up for my smaller projects. By OnPoint on March 28, See all reviews.

Top reviews from other countries. I was quite impressed with that as this is my first 3D printer. I am amazed as to what I can make. Great starter 3D printer and I did not have to assemble anything. Will keep you posted as to how this goes. No fault of machine. All good now. Nov 13 Printed about 2 kg of filament and printer is still working great. Excellent starter printer. Researching for next purchase. Color: Black Verified Purchase. This unit was purchased as a starter printer for my family to do small odd jobs, parts and gaming goodies.

Resolution is outstanding, and it’s amazingly simple to set up and use immediately IF you follow the instructions in the manual and tutorials on the Official Monoprice Youtube channel. Bed leveling does not mean physically level, but that the print bed is equal to the hot print end.

I would recommend the Creator pro to anyone starting or wanting a more reliable 3d printer.

Don’t waste your money and time on anything else. I love this machine. It’s broken the next day. One of the white wires caught on fire. I called FlashForge repeatedly. After several attempts, they refused to take responsibility. They said, since I purchased this through Amazon, they’ll not responsible for any damage or support. What a waste of time and money. I strongly discourage anyone from purchasing this printer.

By Vincent on June 13, Hawk eye Top Contributor: Guitars. I had a Flashforge Finder that I started my 3D printing journey on. I saw this printer on sale during Amazon’s Cyber Monday sale and couldn’t resist pulling the trigger on it. This is a upgrade from the Finder, not only because of the dual nozzles, but bigger build area and a heated build plate.

Also, while the build plate is not removable on this printer, it’s more level- stable that the Finder’s build plate, about as stable as the glass build plate on the BIBO, and not as stable as the build plate on the Sindoh.

The included plate stickers work well, I haven’t had any issues with prints not sticking or sticking too well to them. Since this utilizes Flashprint slicer, I picked that right up since the Finder utilizes that slicer. In terms of operational reliability, the Sindoh WAS at the top of my list before it broke itself. This Creator Pro is second on the list. I haven’t had the BIBO for very long so it still gets babysat closely.

The Finder ran reliably too. The Sindoh was far and away the quietest printer I’ve used. The BIBO is acceptable, some stepper movements are noisier than usual. The Finder was fairly quiet. This Creator Pro is easily the noisiest printer of the bunch. How noisy? You won’t notice it if there’s white noise upstairs, but if the house is quiet, you’ll hear the Creator Pro running no matter where you are in the house. All said and done though, I don’t regret buying this printer and would recommend it to a beginner who knows that 3D printers aren’t magic boxes, and even an expert, given the community behind this printer and modifications available for it.

I can also speak well for Flashforge’s customer service. Although my old Finder was out of warranty when it started malfunctioning mostly due to my ignorance , Tang kept excellent contact with me and did his best to help me get it going again.

He’s even provided me with some tips to improve my dual color prints on the Creator Pro. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. Translate all reviews to English. Best 3D printer I’ve used so far. I create my models using Autodesk Fusion which has free licenses for hobbyists after signing up for a free trial. I use a glue stick with the plastic pads that came with it for PLA without issue.

The ABS that comes with it seems to require Rafts for proper adhesion. You will need to print spool holders to be able to use different filament once the included ones run out because the current holders are much to large for pretty much any other spool can be found on Thingiverse. If you get past that step which really isn’t an issue the rest of the model comes out perfectly.

I started a print and was short on filament and ran out part of the way. Since the motor pushing the filament is before the heater, once the end gets past the gear, the filament will just sit in the extruder and continue heating up while the device keeps going without filament coming out. This can cause a jam and you will need to take the extruder apart to clean it out. Some of the parts are difficult to take apart and some are fragile the heater for example.

Take your time and be careful and you should be fine Jams happen on all 3d printers. Easy to set up, works like a charm when everything is set right Until you try dual extruding, which brings up a few challenges.

It really requires a bit more experience, and some fiddling too. I strongly recommend using a Makerware version that is compatible with the first gen Makerbot double extruder instead.

This can be greatly improved by changing your software, Makerware deals way better with its default settings. However, it is not perfect, and unjamming the extruders is a long and hard process compared with other printers I had previously used. That is both good and bad news Because you can print some better one! For example, the spool holders don’t fit most spools I owned before, but I found some good designs on Thingiverse. Also, the nylon spacers that help holding the extruder fans on their heat sinks are good, but I knew I would lose them someday so I printed spacers that are linked together, also available on Thingiverse.

So, if you have some experience with 3D printing and want to get a good printer in that price range, it is worth it! I bought this in and it’s still working great.
